Dia Frampton

A self-described small-town girl from Logan, Utah, Dia Frampton launched her career with her older sister as the sibling duo Meg & Dia, and as a contestant (and eventual runner-up) on the first season of NBC’s “The Voice.”  In 2015, Frampton followed up her debut album RED with an EP release called ARCHIS (a side project with Joseph Trapanese, a film composer and conductor known for his collaborations with Daft Punk on the Tron score and M83 on the score for Oblivion, as well as arrangements for artists like Kelly Clarkson, Active Child and Zedd).  Her sophomore album, the aptly-titled Bruises (due out March 3, 2017 on Nettwerk Records), is an album that cuts to the bone, produced by film composer Dan Heath (Hans Zimmer, Lana Del Rey, Troye Sivan), revealing the kind of honesty and vulnerability that makes for great songwriting; turning pain and hurt into creative catharsis. The 12 songs form an autobiographical narrative arc that intersperses the light and the dark, traveling from the self-doubt to the fierce determination, from the warm-hued nostalgia to unbridled sensuality and the fatalism of twisted relationship. Frampton discusses that revelation, among many others, in a startlingly honest online blog she wrote for Medium  that confesses her frustrations and fears, but also her resolve to continue climbing that mountain, even as it keeps growing. The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Dia Frampton to the Clive Davis Theatre for an intimate conversation on her career and forthcoming new album Bruises, followed by a brief performance. The evening will be hosted by Lyndsey Parker, Managing Editor for Yahoo Music.
