Reel To Reel: CREEM: America’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll Magazine

Featuring a Post-Screening Conversation with J.J. Kramer, Jaan Uhelszki, Dave Carnie, and Moderator Scott Sterling

Ticket buyers will receive 6 months of a Digital CREEM Subscription for free! This includes access to the CREEM Archive which has every CREEM issue printed from 1969-1988, plus digital versions of each new issue, and access to online-only CREEM content.

The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to host a screening of the documentary, CREEM: America’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll Magazine, followed by a conversation with JJ Kramer (CREEM Chairman and son of CREEM founder Barry Kramer), Jaan Uhelszki (Editor at the original CREEM and Editor Emeritus today), and Dave Carnie (CREEM Editorial Director), moderated by journalist Scott Sterling.

In 1969, CREEM was launched in Detroit as a raw, unfiltered, unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll magazine, and ushered in a new era of raucous, participatory journalism. For two decades, the mag broke barriers, rattled cages, and connected people to music in a way that has never been replicated. After a cool 33-year hiatus, CREEM has risen from the ashes to move the focus of music journalism back where it belongs — on the fans.

Join us for a screening of this documentary, followed by a conversation with CREEM editors, past and present, to answer the question: when was the last time you had any fun reading about music?
