Reel To Reel: The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart

The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to host a special screening of the Emmy-winning film, The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, followed by a panel featuring the film’s Director, Producers, and others from the film: Frank Marshall, Nigel Sinclair, Jeanne Elfant Festa, Mark Monroe, and Albhy Galuten.

The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart chronicles the triumphs and hurdles of brothers Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb, otherwise known as the Bee Gees. The iconic trio, who found early fame in the 1960s, went on to write over 1,000 songs and have 20 No. 1 hits throughout their career, transcending more than five decades of changing tastes and styles.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Frank Marshall (LAUREL CANYON, THE GIFT: THE JOURNEY OF JOHNNY CASH, FRANK SINATRA: ALL OR NOTHING AT ALL) with award-winning producers Nigel Sinclair and Jeanne Elfant Festa (GEORGE HARRISON LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD, THE BEATLES:EIGHT DAYS A WEEK- THE TOURING YEARS, THE APOLLO, PAVAROTTI ), the film is an intimate exploration of the Gibb story, featuring revealing interviews with oldest brother Barry and archival interviews with the late twin brothers Robin and Maurice. The film features a wealth of never-before-seen archival footage of recording sessions, concert performances, TV appearances, and home videos, as well as interviews with musicians Eric Clapton, Noel Gallagher, Nick Jonas, Chris Martin, Justin Timberlake, music producer Mark Ronson, singer Lulu, and record company executive Bill Oakes, among others.

Albhy Galuten who was in the film THE BEE GEES: HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART Albhy is an American technology executive and futurist, GRAMMY Award-winning record producer, composer, musician, orchestrator and conductor. He has numerous inventions (The Drum “Loop” that is in the film) and has produced 18 number 1 singles with songs and albums selling over 100,000,000 copies. He has won two GRAMMY Awards, a Dramalogue award and a BMI award. He also teamed up with Barry Gibb and Karl Richardson. Albhy attended Berklee College of Music.

COVID-19 POLICY

For the health, safety and well-being of our patrons, staff and artists, GRAMMY Museum’s current COVID-19 policy for Public Program guests is as follows:

  • Vaccinated guests must present upon arrival a photo ID along with proof that they meet the CDC definition of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, either in the form of a physical vaccination card or a photo of the card.
  • Guests under the age 12 or those who are exempt from COVID-19 vaccinations due to medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs will be required to take a COVID-19 PCR test within 48 hours before entering the building and present their negative results at the door with a photo ID.
  • Masks are currently required for both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests.
