Please join the GRAMMY Museum in welcoming Yola for an intimate conversation on the making of her debut album followed by a performance. Walk Through Fire, produced by Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), is a genre-bending release from one of the most powerful emerging British voices in music today. Yola has won supporters including The New York Times, Rolling Stone Magazine, and NPR Music who said Yola is “an artist sure to stun audiences for years to come.” Yola has appeared on CBS Saturday Morning and has toured the US extensively, taking her from The Hollywood Bowl to Newport Folk Festival where she performed with The Highwomen, Mavis Staples, Sheryl Crow and Dolly Parton. She also recently opened for Kacey Musgraves on her U.S. tour. The writing team included Yola, longtime John Prine collaborator Pat McLaughlin, and the legendary Dan Penn (“Dark End of the Street,” “Cry Like a Baby,” “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man”). The resulting debut album features guests such as Vince Gill and bluegrass icons Ronnie McCoury, Molly Tuttle, Stuart Duncan, and Charlie McCoy, along with some of the most iconic session musicians today, who have played for Johnny Cash, Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Waylon Jennings, and more.
