The Drop: Steve Forbert
On the night of the release of his latest album Over With You, join us as we welcome Steve Forbert to the Clive Davis Theater. Steve’s new release heralds the return of a great American songwriter, and will be backed for this show by virtuoso cellist Ben Sollee (who appears on the album) and drummer Jordon Ellis. Forbert has created a lengthy discography of varied Americana music over the course of his impressive career. He has been nominated for a GRAMMY, had his songs covered by Keith Urban and Rosanne Cash, and has been produced by multiple GRAMMY Award winners. However, his signature sound has never lost touch with the boy who left Mississippi for the Big Apple. Hear Forbert, along with Vice President of the GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares Scott Goldman, talk about his career and Over With You. After the interview, Steve will take questions from the audience and perform songs ranging from his earliest to his most recent.
