After a two-year hiatus, singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson is back with a new album and she’s better than ever. Michaelson has come a long way since her first platinum break-out single, “The Way I Am,” was released seven years ago. Her past records have always been written by strictly Michaelson herself, with one producer, recording in one location. On her fifth studio album, Lights Out, dropping on April 15, Michaelson decided it was time to take a risk and branch out of her comfort zone. ForLights Out, she recorded in Los Angeles, New York and Nashville, alongside six different producers and ten respectable co-writers, including the talented Katie Herzig, Mat Kearney, Trent Dabbs, A Great Big World, and Busbee (Katy Perry, Pink, Lady Antebellum.) Her most personal album to date, Michaelson didn’t hold back, drawing inspiration from the darkest moments of her life over the past couple of years. The result? A beautiful, intense, and thoughtful piece of work. Please join us as we welcome Michaelson to the Clive Davis Theater to celebrate the release of the album, just days before its release. Hosted by Vice President of The GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares Scott Goldman, the evening will feature both an interview with Michaelson and a performance.
