Please join us as we welcome influential British singer/songwriter, Graham Parker to the Clive Davis Theater. Originally from London, Parker enlisted a backing group in 1975 to eventually become Graham Parker and the Rumour, and released their first critically-acclaimed album Howlin’ Wind. Thanks to Parker’s passionate, class-conscious lyrics, incendiary live performances with the mixture of rock, ballads and reggae-influenced numbers, they were able to introduce a new side of the British rock punk scene in the late 1970’s. Embarking on his own journey starting in 1980, Parker continued to release acclaimed albums and write novels. In 2011, Parker reunited with The Rumour for their new album Three Chords Good, to be released on November 20, 2012 and will be featured in Judd Apatow’s new film This is 40 out on December 21, 2012. Hosted by Vice President of The GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares, Scott Goldman, Parker will discuss his long and varied career, participate in an audience Q&A and will perform acoustically.
