GRAMMY-winning singer Kelly Rowland, a member of one of the biggest female groups of all time Destiny’s Child, goes on a quest to find the next big female superstar group to make their mark in the music industry. In the forthcoming BET series Chasing Destiny, premiering April 5, these singing hopefuls will vie their way to stardom with recording mogul Rowland helping them find their voice as entertainers. The series follows Rowland as she enlists a team of experts to identify the best young talent in America to form the new music group. Unfolding in real time, over 10 hour-long episodes, the series begins with a search to discover and assemble the next great girl group. The pressure is on for Rowland as she has just four months to form a group, record an EP and prepare them for a major industry showcase. The clock is always ticking as cameras follow along during the entire process, capturing the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Viewers will witness Rowland struggle as she takes on the daunting task of fulfilling the artistic dreams of a new generation of young women with the same aspirations she had when she started her career in Destiny’s Child. The GRAMMY Museum welcomes Executive Producer Kelly Rowland to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate discussion on the forthcoming series and what it takes to find the next great girl group. Rowland will be joined by GRAMMY Award winning singer-songwriter Kandi Burruss (Xscape, Real Housewives of Atlanta) and Cheryl “Salt” James (Salt-N- Pepa) in a panel discussion.
