In conjunction with the release of his latest book, The Beatles & Sgt. Pepper: A Fan’s Perspective, Beatles author/historian Bruce Spizer returns to the GRAMMY Museum for a special Members-only event to discuss how The Beatles’ landmark album was received at the time of its release in 1967. Spizer’s presentation will include music, TV clips, promotional films, and images from the Summer of Love. Hightlights from the book include the reaction from teenagers on “American Bandstand” and the revealing of The Beatles’ new look, plus excerpts from reviews published in Time, Newsweek, Life, Crawdaddy, and The New York Times. Spizer will also explain why the album was voted the most important rock album of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. After the presentation, Spizer will answer questions from the audience and then sign copies of his new book. The event is being held on the exact date the album was released in the U.S. 50 years ago.
