Join author Shain Shapiro as he introduces his debut book, This Must Be The Place: How Music Can Make Your City Better on Wednesday, March 20 at 12pm in the GRAMMY Museum’s Clive Davis Theater. Lauded as a “seminal book” by Al Bell (Stax Records, Motown) and as “the most informed and capable voice on the subject of how music and culture is a critical and powerful component of any thriving community” by Ben Lovett (Mumford and Sons), Shain will discuss how music and city policy intersect, what all communities need to leverage music to the fullest potential and what we can all do to make where we live better, through music. He’ll be joined by Kelley Purcell, Vice President of Membership & Industry Relations at the Recording Academy; Elizabeth Peterson Gower, Founder & CEO, EPG Group; and Rita George, Chief Program Officer at the GRAMMY Museum. The program will be followed by a book signing. This program is free.
