In 2010, the rock band The National released their fifth album, High Violet. After ten years as critical darlings, the band was finally enjoying wider recognition. As they were about to embark on the biggest tour of their career, lead singer Matt Berninger invited his younger brother, Tom, to be a part of their tour crew. A budding filmmaker and horror movie enthusiast, Tom brought along his camera to film the experience. Mistaken for Strangers is a comical, yet touching look at two very different brothers, and an odd but strangely moving portrait of a popular, nuanced band. Please join us in The Clive Davis Theater for the official Los Angeles screening of the film that The Hollywood Reporter calls “Brutal, hilarious…unexpectedly honest.” The film’s Tribeca Film Festival debut coincided with the release of their newest studio album Trouble Will Find Me which came out on 4AD May 21st. Following the screening, lead singer Matt Berninger and his brother, the filmmaker Tom Berninger, will participate in a panel discussion and audience Q & A, moderated by Vice President of The GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares, Scott Goldman.
